A string of slightly unusual tweets have showed up in my tweetdeck search for
Woodford Folk Festival today, which lead me to believe that there's something oddly SMEGish going on
All these lead to the Suite 101 site of one
Jasmine Crittenden (
twitter), spruiking the festival. She does
appear to have an interest in writing about World Music, so this could well be just a journalist trying to uprank her stories (or it could be paid promotion) Or it could be spammers harvesting RSS to build profiles and Miss Crittenden might not be involved at all. I'm slightly intrigued. At first I assumed it was the Woodford management's stellar grasp of PR leading them to employ a spammer, but now I'm not so sure.
The accounts above all seem to be tweeting the same content, via twitterfeed. There's no human involvement here. Still, in the wake of Woodford's incompetence in responding to the
controversy over an anti-vaccination speaker I'm not ruling anything out.
